Fruits of the Spirit

Fruit of the Spirit: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, & Self Control

Parenting hack: Use the fruit of the spirit as a filter for yourself and your children.

Over a year ago, I discovered the fruit of the spirit.  It’s amazing how you can be Christian your entire life and not fully dive into so many aspects of learning. When I tell you I’m not judging you on your journey, I mean it. I’ve literally live 30+ years without knowing SO MANY cool things - and guess what, God still loved me all those other years too 😉

Learning these 9 “fruits” has been such a game changer in parenting for us. Although we practiced many of these principles in our parenting style already, teaching our children these concepts that are spirit filled has had a huge impact on how they approach situations.

When disagreements arise - we navigate them using our fruit of the spirit filters. If either side isn’t practicing these concepts, we gently point them out and correct them. Once we model and walk our kiddos through how to speak to one another, even when they don’t see eye to eye - they get better at adapting to outside of the home scenarios.

Honestly, if we used the fruit of the spirit as a filter on how we speak to others, the world would be better off.
